Our name is a nod to a pivotal moment in modern history: the Munich massacre of 1972, where eleven Israeli athletes were taken hostage and murdered during the Olympic Games. The tragedy unfolded at 31 Connollystraße (Connolly Street) in the Olympic Village. It was a turning point for the global security landscape — leading to the birth of multiple elite counter terror units: GSG9 (Germany), GIGN (France), etc. and a defining moment for Israeli counterterrorism and protective strategies.
